Intern with Us

Start: Empowerment is a BIPOC led social and environmental justice education project working with NYC schools to implement a justice-focused curriculum and programming.

We love our interns because they play a vital role in supporting our work. Central to our values is the incorporation of youth and/or students' voices. Through working with us, interns not only gain a basic foundation in environmental justice, they also get to put a mark on the work they do for us as all projects are promptly put into action in our Climate Justice Community School, Food Justice Coalition programming, our course suite, and/or the classroom.

Currently, we are accepting interns paid through the NYC Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP)'s provider network and through high school and university programs compensated via credit.
